Week of 7.6.15 :: Alt Rock * The Front Bottoms - Cough It Out

At the end of June, indie alt rock/emo-revival band The Front Bottoms premiered a pair of new songs, a new label, and new videos for "Cough It Out" and "West Virginia". The NJ duo have recently signed to prominent alt rock label Fueled By Ramen, the home of many larger bands like Fun., Panic! At The Disco, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots, Fall Out Boy, and Jimmy Eat World (just to name a few..).

TFB's last full-length album release was in 2013 with Talon of the Hawk - so it's no real surprise that their track "Cough It Out" has a different, more subdued sound. The song features a lot more layering of electronic sounds and backup vocals; and even though, Brian Sella still goes about in his signature singing/talking style, it's much more mellow than its fellow release "West Virginia", which plays more akin to TFB oldies.

Needless to say, Brian Sella and Matthew Uychich (along with the other now and then members) are going to deliver another great album, and it will be exciting to see their fan-base grow with this new label deal. For all you fellow New Englanders, The Front Bottoms are playing a show in Cooperstown, NY at Ommegang Brewery on August 15 and the lineup is pretty epic - Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band and Brand New - beer + live music...can it get any better, really?

Take a listen to these new tracks!
