FYMS * IMPORTANT UPDATE & The Complete-Thus-Far "Try This" List

If you haven't realized yet (or if you're a new reader!), I recently reformatted the entire FYMS website. One of the reasons why is that I just got bored with the old layout and visually wanted to switch it up. But the main reason is that I've decided to tweak the overall mission. There are a number of other blogs and music websites out there that I like to keep up with, and the most interesting ones often have more than one focus. For example, I've been enjoying When The Gramophone Rings which is a UK-based site. It has some cool topics like "Unsigned Band of the Month" and "Track of the Day", in addition to some Review-based content. If you know about Diddy's music channel, Revolt, the website piece of it is constantly updated for all music-related news. Property of Zack has a solid repertoire of interview and  review posts, and a very similarly aligned beginning story and overall mission (hinthint).

By "Liking" the FYMS page on Facebook, you automatically can see the stuff that FYMS posts about, because it shows up in your News Feed. I post to Facebook. Like, a LOT. (Maybe because I sit for 8+ hours a day on a computer? Who knows..) Often times, I share artists and band's tour schedules as they post dates to their pages. Or music video premieres. Or YouTube clips. But the FYMS page doesn't have an army of followers at the moment (sad), so ultimately, you all are missing out on the awesome new stuff that I find and post about!

Long story short - I have made the executive decision to try something new for FYMS. While the underlying theme of FYMS has always been to share and bring into your ears a bit of new (and even old) music, the new, very simple plan is to post about anything and everything that I find musically interesting. Maybe it's because I have only a few people around me who share the same enthusiasm, but FYMS will serve as my channel for talking about all things music: new artists, tour dates, local events, nostalgia, etc. etc. PLUS I will still post extensive reviews, photos, and videos whenever I do make it to a show, don't worry.
